The Role Of The DNP As A Practice Scholar.

Everyone must complete the Part I and Part II discussion questions each week.

Part I:

Part I discussion this week focused on the DNP practice scholar.  The practice scholar is immersed in lifelong learning and knowledge sharing.  Please answer the following questions:

1.      How have you demonstrated your role as a clinical scholar in your current position?

2.      How do you anticipate integrating this role into your current or future career?

Part II: For Case Study Students

·       Please start stating your practice question in PICOT format.

PICOT question:

In overweight adult patients in a primary care clinic, what is the impact of implementing the American Heart Association Diet and Lifestyle recommendations, compared to standard care, on body weight in 8-10 weeks?

Please use the bullet points below as headings.

·       How is the COVID-19 pandemic affecting organizational operations and how did COVID-19 affect the development of your project? *** with covid, people are more sedentary, eating more…

·       In anticipating barriers and challenges, consider how you will overcome these challenges as related to your project question in the simulated case scenario. Please include citations and matching references to support your discussion. How will you address issues that could have potentially occurred, such as:

o   Not all participants (staff and/or patients) attended as planned and some staff were out sick.  How will you follow up with them? (EMAIL, CALL, or whatever you find pertinent)

o   There are float nurses and traveler nurses on the unit. How will this impact your project plan? If this does not apply to your project please discuss another impact that has affected your implementation plan? ** it doesn’t apply to my project so you can use: Potential barriers include participants forgetting to input their data to the tracking app and lack of reliable mobile access. These can be mitigated with training and support and weekly reminders to participants. access to healthy food or any other barrier that a patient will have to lose weight)

o   Internet speed, access to the Fitbit app, and bandwidth are causing problems with virtual meetings you have set up. What is your backup plan? **the clinic will provide a smartphone for a patient who don’t have it to use during the project duration. The fitbit app is free to download. Also I will educatient patients in the project on the use of it).

Class, each week, when you share your implementation progress, successes, challenges, and barriers, your classmates may be feeling the same way, or have experienced a similar situation and can share their experiences as well.

Your post will be checked in Turnitin for plagiarism. Responses should be a minimum of 250 words, scholarly written, APA formatted, and referenced.  A minimum of 3 references are required (other than your textbook).

Communication In Health Care Setting

Communication In Nursing

Frank Matthew, a 75-year-old retired banker, is your client on the medical–surgical unit where you practice nursing. Mr. Matthew is being admitted with a distended abdomen and absent bowel sounds, stating, “I haven’t taken a crap in a week!” He reports living alone, having no children, and looking forward to “having people to talk to while I’m here” (Learning Objectives: 4, 7, and 9).

  1. Define therapeutic communication within the nurse-patient relationship and outline at least 4 goals of therapeutic communication within the nurse-patient relationship.
  2. Define social and therapeutic relationships then compare and contrast social and therapeutic relationships (must have at least 3 things listed for each compare and contrast)

Week 9 Assignment – Develop and Recommend a Retirement Plan

Week 9 Assignment – Develop and Recommend a Retirement Plan

Overview

In this assignment, you will recommend a personal retirement plan for a client that you identify. Support your recommendation to the client by explaining how the plan meets the client’s needs and mitigates risk. In addition to the required page total, include the required appendices. Required appendices may be tables, pie charts, and/or other appropriate figures.

Scenario

This week, you continue in the role of retirement planner you took on for the Week 7 assignment. You will identify a client, create a retirement plan that meets that client’s needs, and recommend the plan to the client.

Instructions

In a 5–6 page paper, complete the following:

  1. Identify a person, couple, or family for whom you are creating the plan. Describe the person, couple, or family (no name is required, but it can be you, someone else, or someone you imagine). Each of the following items is important because your recommendations must align to them:
    1. Include the factors that are important to know when developing a retirement plan (age, marital status, number of dependents, health, life expectancy, and other sources of income such as social security and pensions).
    2. Identify a desired age of retirement and retirement income (assume these were provided by the client).
    3. Describe the client’s personal risk tolerance (assume this information was provided by the client).
  2. Develop a personal retirement plan that identifies required savings before retirement and planned savings and withdrawals before and after retirement. Support your explanation of this plan with the following appendices:
    1. Annual and monthly savings before retirement (in addition to the required page total).
    2. Annual and monthly withdrawals after retirement (in addition to the required page total).
  3. Recommend asset allocations that mitigate risk based on client’s profile, such as age, marital status, and personal risk tolerance, and based on the riskiness of the assets. Provide the following appendix to support the original and changing allocation of asset classes:
    1. Asset allocation over the life of the plan (in addition to the required page total).
  4. Use 5–6 sources to support your writing. Choose sources that are credible, relevant, and appropriate. Cite each source listed on your source page at least one time within your assignment. For help with research, writing, and citation, access the library or review library guides.

Discussion 9 (please separate from the below discussion) 1-2 paragraphs including references

Determine the key reasons why a multinational corporation might decide to borrow in a country such as Brazil, where interest rates are high, rather than in a country like Switzerland, where interest rates are low. Provide support for your rationale.

Discussion 10 (please separate from the above discussion) 1-2 paragraphs including references

Examine the key reasons why a business may not want to hold too much or too little working capital. Provide examples that illustrate the consequences of either situation.

Discussion 2- Strategy Applied In Project Management

Read and reflect on the assigned readings for the week. Then post what you thought was the most important concept(s), method(s), term(s), and/or any other thing that you felt was worthy of your understanding in each assigned textbook chapter.Your initial post should be based upon the assigned reading for the week, so the textbook should be a source listed in your reference section and cited within the body of the text. Other sources are not required but feel free to use them if they aid in your discussion.

Also, provide a graduate-level response to each of the following questions:

  1. The culture of the organization can impact the effectiveness of different project management structures. Organizational cultures that do not encourage teamwork, collaboration, and cross-functional integration need a stronger project management structure (i.e., project team, project matrix) to be successful. Conversely, a functional matrix can be effective in an organization in which the culture of the organization is conducive to project management.
  2. You work for LL Company, which manufactures high-end optical scopes for hunting rifles. LL Company has been the market leader for the past 20 years and has decided to diversify by applying its technology to develop a top-quality binocular. What kind of project management structure would you recommend they use for this project? What information would you like to have to make this recommendation, and why?

  3. Insomnia has become an epidemic in the United States. Much research has been done in the development of new pharmaceuticals to aide those who suffer from insomnia. Alternatives to the pharmaceuticals are being sought by sufferers. A new relaxation technique has been tested to see if it is effective in treating the disorder. Sixty insomnia sufferers between the ages of 18 to 40 with no underlying health conditions volunteered to participate in a clinical trial. They were randomly assigned to either receive the relaxation treatment or a proven pharmaceutical treatment. Thirty were assigned to each group. The amount of time it took each of them to fall asleep was measured and recorded. The data is shown below. Run a two-independent samples t-test to determine if the relaxation treatment is more effective than the pharmaceutical treatment at a level of significance of 0.05. In 1-2 sentences interpret the results in words then write the statistical results in APA style. Report the t statistic and probability statistic.
