What factors caused the levels of obedience to increase or decrease in these studies?

Each response should be at least 150 words and include cited scholarly support. Work to have a balanced response that includes both proper review of academic material to establish a foundation along with your own discussion, examples, and integration of the material. APA formatted in text citations and end of post references are required in your initial responses to these question sets.

1. In SLO 7 you are studying attitudes. Chapter 6 mentions the Implicit Association Test which measure implicit attitudes we do not report (p. 210). To see how these work, click on the link below:

https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/

Click on Demonstration> Go to the Demonstration Tests> I wish to proceed. Choose one of the Implicit Association Tests (IAT) that interests you and take it. This should take about ten minutes. You will see a report at the end that measures your implicit associations against those of others that have taken these tests.

Which test did you choose to take? What were your results? Describe your response to your results. What, if anything, do you think the test revealed about your attitudes that you do not demonstrate in your behaviors? How does completing this (probably new) activity change your attitude in any way? Explain fully.

2. Please watch the following video clips

Stanley Milgram: Authority & Obedience (Films on Demand) http://digital.films.com/PortalViewVideo.aspx?xtid=43512&loid=99545

Stanford Prison Experiments (Films on Demand) http://digital.films.com/PortalViewVideo.aspx?xtid=48360&loid=145743

and Stanford Results (Films on Demand) http://digital.films.com/PortalViewVideo.aspx?xtid=48360&loid=145744

What factors caused the levels of obedience to increase or decrease in these studies? What ethical issues are raised by these two experiments? We can also think about how these experiments might be relevant to us today. In what types of situations is obedience the expected norm? How can we generalize the results from these studies to the “real world?
