Crime rates can be brought down considerably due to dawn of predictive technology that allows the cops to stop crimes before occurrence by using “clues from virtual interactions and behavioral data.” Another reason behind this development is environmental criminology that provides the option to have a close look at journey, habits and life of people.
Social networks sites play an important role in this as these sites are used for sharing about yourself. This information can be used by cops to invigilate several areas based on who is present there according to their social media profiles. Clothing technology will also be focused upon and enhanced so that it can send information to cops. Technology similar to Google Goggles will be applied here and will be available for emergency officers and cops only. Situational awareness increases due to availability of technology and so does the reality presented by the first responders on scene. Computer based policing is something that police doesn’t need to worry about yet as according to them, artificial intelligence hasn’t reached enough heights to make this possible and viable. |
