Introduction

Euharlee is a small little city in Georgia

Build in the 1880s

Euharlee was gets it’s name from the Cherokee name Eufaula

Eufaula means “She laughs as she runs”

Euharlee is a wonderful small little city in the country. It is less than 6 miles in area; however, has that mountain town feel. I have called Euharlee home for nearly 30 years and I would not want to live anywhere else. The average income in this area is approximately over 75,000 dollars annually according to Community Commons.org (2015). This area offers the little town charm with the ability to maintain financial stability with the surrounding businesses.

“The National Ambient Air Quality Standard (35 micrograms per cubic meter) per year is the national standard by which air particulate matter is measured. Monitoring stations tract the percentage of days with particulate matter 2.5 levels above the National Ambient Air Quality Standard,” (CDC, 2008). This is important for all communities to monitor their air quality. Poor air can lead to numerous health risks to communities. I am pleasantly surprised that the percentage in my community is better than the national standard, given that I can view Plant Bowen from my front porch.
