PART 1

Write a minimum of 100 words to address each one of the questions below:

1- Describe the components of equity theory, the role justice plays in motivating with this theory, and the actions employees will take if they perceive they are not being treated fairly.
2 -Define the underlying tenet of expectancy theory.
3- Explain how the reinforcement theory works.
4- Clarify the components of goal-setting theory and how they motivate employees.

PART 2

1- Identify a motivational speaker who maintains a website. It could be someone you already admire and follow. If you are not aware of a motivational speaker, use the Internet to find one. Provide the following information:
a- The motivational speaker’s name and website.
b- The reason you follow them or they appealed to you.
c- What special “niche” does the speaker fulfill?
d- What does the speaker do to motivate his or her audience?

PART 3

Write a minimum of 700 words combined to address the sections below, label each part appropriately and include references if applicable.

Part A: Select a service industry (E.g. transportation, dental, accounting, landscaping, etc.). Assume a company from that industry has no employee rewards and service providers operate individually. Although productivity is high, the goal is to sustain that level throughout the upcoming growth process.
1- Formulate at least five specific rewards for individual employees.
a) Use examples to demonstrate how each reward will sustain productivity during
growth, while employees are being asked to do more with fewer resources.
b) For each reward of the five rewards, include measurable criteria (e.g. what is the
award, value/amount, how is it earned, when and how often, etc.)
c) Describe at least two qualifiers, two disqualifiers and two possible exceptions
for the program. (Consider attendance, service, medical leaves, etc.)
2 – Two of your rewards are unavailable due to budget cuts. Introduce two new intrinsic rewards. Demonstrate how these will motivate employees.

Part B: Select a manufacturing industry (vehicles, furniture, beverage, etc.).
-Assume a particular company from that industry has no employee rewards at this time. Their manufacturing site operates in teams and team members report to team leaders. Productivity is lower than the facility’s capacity and market demand.
-Formulate at least five specific rewards for teams.
a) Use examples to demonstrate how each reward will improve teams’ productivity.
b) For each reward, include measurable reward criteria (e.g. what is the
award, value/amount, how is it earned, when and how often, etc.)
c) Describe at least two team qualifiers, two disqualifiers and two possible
exceptions for the program. E.g. absence, team size, performance issue, safety
violations, etc.
