feminism-and-architecture-from-1890-to-1918

Select an article that we have read for class—either a primary source or a secondary source—and perform a close reading or review of it. The aim of the assignment is to understand the author’s main point, and to then make a claim about it. What is the argument that the author is trying to make in this article? What evidence do you they use to support it? How does this article make us think about the history of a particular building or city differently? Does it seem to be in debate or conversation with anything else we’ve read? In what style is it written? And, importantly, what do you think about it?

These are short papers of around 500 words and should have a clear thesis argument supported by detailed text analysis and evidence. Please footnote any quotations.
