Do the standard deviations of the samples seem consistent with the results of the HOV test?

PSY 520_Mod5_One Way ANOVA exercise

Use the Inho dataset attachment. The data is in Excel format—the first tab of the spreadsheet lists the data and the second tab is a key to the labeling of the data.

1. Perform a one-way ANOVA to test whether the different quiz conditions (variable is called exp_cond and denotes whether the last question on a quiz was easy, moderate, difficult, or impossible) had a significant effect on post-quiz anxiety (Anx_post) and post-quiz heart rate (Hr_post). Request descriptive statistics for each level of the IV and use the sample means to explain the results of your ANOVA.

2. Using college major as the independent variable, perform a one-way ANOVA to test for significant differences in the math background quiz and the statistics quiz. Request descriptive statistics and a homogeneity of variance test.

Do the standard deviations of the samples seem consistent with the results of the HOV test?

3. Create a grouping variable from the number of math courses taken (Group 1 = none; Group 2 = one or two; Group 3 = three or more), and perform a one-way ANOVA on the math background quiz and the statistics quiz. Explain your results in terms of the means of the three groups.

4. There are two ways to perform a one-way ANOVA in Minitab. The first is by using Stat>ANOVA>One-way and the second is by using Stat>ANOVA>General linear model.
Using college major as the independent variable, perform a one-way ANOVA using both Method 1 and Method 2 to test for significant differences in anxiety post. Compare the output. What do you conclude based on these two tests?
