In 1956, Congress established Constitution Week, to begin each year on September 17th, the date in 1787 when delegates to the Convention signed the Constitution. In May of 2005, Congress established Constitution Day, requiring institutions of higher education receiving federal funding to commemorate the signing of the Constitution.

To commemorate Constitution Day, feel free to take the following quiz: https://www.constitutionfacts.com/index.cfm

Share your score! This is optional, but can be fun. Did any of the answers surprise you? What does the Constitution mean to you?

In honor of Constitution Day on September 17th, a special forum will be added this week. This forum will incorporate our Founding Fathers of the Constitution.

Go to the link below and take the quiz entitled “Which Founding Father Are You?”

http://www.constitutionfacts.com/?page=foundingFatherShort.cfm

After taking the quiz and getting your results, provide a 100 word analysis of how the Founding

Father’s characteristics as described in the results would apply to your sport leadership philosophy,

goals, rules, strategies, and/or plans for the future. What makes you a great leader like the founding fathers?

For example, my Founding Father was James Madison. My forum might look like this:

One part of the description of James Madison mentioned that he was a thoughtful leader who led

through turbulent times. In my sport leadership, I have the philosophy of being thoughtful and

altruistic toward my followers. One goal of mine is to consider the needs and desires of the

followers. A strategy I use for this is to meet individually with each player. This individual attention to my players makes me a great leader. My future plans include continuing to learn how to better serve in times of trouble or turbulence.
