ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY

INSTRUCTOR:Mr. Albritten

Purpose:The purpose of this paper is to spend a minimum of two documented hours in any library conducting research and following step by step directions using the following guidelines.

Topics: Please use the research paper topic attachment list to know which topic is assigned to you.

Library assignment form: You must include the library assignment form that must be filled out completely. You must spend a minimum of exactly 2 hours in a library working on your research paper.1 hour and 59 minutes results in the grade of a zero.You may go for a minimum of 60 minutes for a total of two visits. You may use one or two library forms. You will need a librarian signature with a sign in and out time each visit.You will need the library stamp or a signed copy of business card of the librarian or library staff. You may scan or take a photograph of the completely filled out library form as part of your research paper in order to load it in its drop box.No completely filled out library assignment sheet will result in a grade of zero even with a completely done report.It will not be accepted after the due date even if the paper was submitted on time.

Typing Guidelines: It must be typed.Use Times New Roman, 12 point font.Use zero indentation on the right and left while using zero spacing before and after.Minus ten if incorrect.Use regular black ink only, not bold or any other color.Please single space your paper first.Once the paper is finished, double-space it on standard size paper to avoid extra spaces between paragraphs.No cut and pasted papers will be accepted. There should be no bullets, numbering, charts, graphs, or diagrams throughout your paper.Minus two points each time you use one.Use paragraph format only. Minus one point for every extra space between paragraphs since this space could have been used for information.

Numbering Pages: Each page should be numbered using the complete title of your paper which should be located at the top right corner as a header along with the page number. Click insert. Click page number. Click top of page. Click plain number 3 (for top right hand corner).Do not use acronyms, short hand, abbreviations, or put your last or first name with the year in the header. Minus five if incorrect.

References/ Sources: Please use the attached reference in text/ work cited page only.

Cover Page/Page 1: In the center of the page, insert a colored picture of/ or relating to your topic. Centered below your picture, include your name, date, Bio 2113 or Bio 2114 and the instructor’s name using; instructor: (colon) Mr. Albritten.Minus five if incorrectly labeled.

Introduction/ Paragraph 1/ Page 2:Please press the tab key once before beginning this paragraph so that it will be recognizable.The very first paragraph of the second page should use no more than five sentences or five lines. Minus one point for every sentence over five lines even if it is one word on the sixth line.It should be a very interesting eye opening introduction in your own words.You will not receive any credit or minus five if this paragraph includes cited sources or statistics.You may tell a short story, tell a joke, or whatever you think will interest the reader.The very last sentence of your first paragraph or introduction, should be your thesis statement that begins…This paper will discuss, (comma)……..I will not award points for anything else such as I am going to discuss, I am going to talk about, or My paper will discuss. Minus five if the thesis is not completed as assigned.

Paragraph 3/ Pages 2 and Page 3: Choose one of the five provided sources and type your desired information.Please press the tab key once before beginning this paragraph so that it will be recognizable.Please cite your source at the end of your paragraph as instructed on the reference in text page.

Paragraph 4/ Pages 3: Choose one of the five provided sources and type your desired information.Please press the tab key once before beginning this paragraph so that it will be recognizable.Please cite your source at the end of your paragraph as instructed on the reference in text page.

Conclusion/ Paragraph 4/ Pages 3 Please press the tab key once before beginning this paragraph so that it will be recognizable.Using no more than five sentences or five lines in the last paragraph on the last information page/ page 3 should begin…In conclusion, (comma) only… and then you state your opinions, suggestions, concerns, issues and so on.(-2 if missing a comma). Reference Page/ Work Cited Page/ Page 4: Use the provided reference in text/ work cited page only to reference your sources.

Articles: You must provide copies of all used articles and attach them to your research paper.Be sure to highlight the used information on your sources in order to show where the used information came from in case I or any other reader needs to reference the content.Please do not include pages that you have not highlighted any information.You must highlight every used sentence.You may not draw a box, use brackets, parenthesis, stars, asterisk or anything else to identify the used information.When using a You Tube video, you may provide a screen shot of the video website with handwritten dictated information.You will then highlight your used information.

Due Date: Please see your projected learning schedule for the due date and time.I WILL NOT ACCEPT A LATE PAPER or any part of the paper late.You may submit your paper early if you are not going to be here.

Submission:All students must submit your paper, library assignment form, and articles as an attachment in the research paper drop box located in the research paper folder.No part of this paper may be emailed to me.It is located under the course content tab on blackboard.It is ok if you load your paper and articles separate if the file is too large.
