This person might be a colleague or peer where you are currently employed, a local hospital or other organization, an author of a research paper you read, or someone you found during an Internet search. You could have met with this person in person, using Zoom, or over the phone, but your conversation must be a verbal discussion that lasts approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

During the interview, you should have asked the expert: what gaps in knowledge in the science they believe exist; their recommendations they have you to conduct research to figure out how to fill these gaps; what gaps in knowledge in the science they believe exist. Other questions asked should have included:

• What recommendations do they have you to explore these knowledge gaps?
• What articles and journals do they recommend for you to read?
• Which organizations would be relevant for you to join and participate in that relates to your clinical research area of interest?
• What tips do they have for being a clinician researcher in nursing research?

• Write a 250– to 300–word summary of what you learned from the interview.
• Write a reflection on how the interview will help guide you in your research as you are thinking about an EBP, QI, or novel research proposal that you will be working on throughout the course.
• Include at least two scholarly sources to support your summary and reflection.

1. ntroduction: Provide an overview of what will be covered in the paper. Introduction should include general statements on advanced practice nursing roles, general statements on the role transition from RN to APN, and identification of the purpose of the paper.
2. Four APN Roles: Describe the role, educational preparation, and work environment for the four APN roles (CNP, CNS, CRNA & CNM). Provide support from at least one scholarly source.
3. Rationale for Choosing CNP Role:Describe your rationale for choosing the CNP advanced practice role versus one of the other roles.
4. Plans for Clinical Practice:Discuss your plans for clinical practice after graduation. Explain how your understanding of NP practice has changed after researching the four ANP roles.
5. Role Transition: Discuss your transition from the RN role to the NP role. Describe two factors that may impact your transition. Discuss two strategies you will use to support a successful transition from the RN to your NP role. Provide reference support from at least one scholarly source. The textbook is not a scholarly source.
6. Conclusion:Provide a conclusion, including a brief summary of what you discussed in the paper.

There are a number of mental health providers (Nurse Practitioners included) that are not as familiar with the latest developments in neuroscience and are a bit skeptical about its use in their clinical practice. As you watch and listen to the posted videos you will hear Dr. Akil introduce the concept of neuroscience and explain how some of the latest developments can be used in everyday practice. She also discusses the problem of stigma and the role of clinicians in dispelling myths about mental illness.  

Discuss the following question . 

1. Has your understanding of brain science changed? In what way?

2. Please comment and give an example of how you anticipate or have already incorporated your understanding of neuroscience into the counseling and treatment of your clients.

3. In what ways have you noticed or personally experienced the marginalization of persons with mental illness, their relationship with health care providers or their ability to access care?

Using the research article selected for DQ 1, identify three key questions you will ask and answer when reading the research study and why these questions are important. When responding to peers, provide other questions and answers that could be considered in relation to the peers’ studies.
