Think of a current manager or leader you interact with. How are they balancing task management vs. relationship management?  

This discussion board post will give us the opportunity to reflect on the balance between being a task-oriented leader and a relational leader.   It  will also allow you to practice thinking like a leadership consultant. After reading Chapter 4 and viewing the model video, answer the following questions:

  • As you reflect on what has been discussed in this chapter and on our own leadership style, how would you describe your own style in relation to task and relational orientations?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?
  • Think of a current manager or leader you interact with. How are they balancing task management vs. relationship management?
  • What advice, encouragement, or feedback would you give them.  Write this feedback out as if you were going to send it to them in a note.
  • Once you have finished your post, come back and reply to at least two classmates.
