Information report on Managing Risk that would be appropriate for any organisation, industry body, union, employer association or government agency. Employees are exposed to a range of hazards in the workplace. Select an industry, (such as construction or health for example) and choose three major hazards (from the list of hazards outlined in Module 4) common in that industry. For each hazard, explain how employers commonly control risks to worker health and safety arising from the hazard in your chosen industry and consider the effectiveness of these methods.

In your answer, be sure to include a discussion of the risk management procedure and the hierarchy of controls. For each hazard type, provide examples of how different types of controls can be used to protect people from harm at work. Refer to any relevant government regulations, codes of practice or guidance material in Queensland. Be sure to mention any recent developments in hazard management in your chosen industry in terms of new technologies, industry trends, best practice cases and so forth.
